LocalMaps Categories make it easier for others to find content in your Gallery. They essentially allow users to filter down the maps and apps visible based on a keyword that you, the administrator define. This section allows you to configure what categories that are available in the left-hand panel of the gallery page.

Categories are based on the item tags you create in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS. 



To create or edit categories for your Gallery, click Add next to Categories and select the categories you want to assignenter a keyword (that correlates to the tag you set in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS) and click Add. You can also use the Filter categories box to narrow the categories. Click Save when you are finished.This section allows you to configure the types of categories that are available to be selected from in the left-hand panel of the gallery page. These Categories are driven from item tags in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS.
