This section allows the administrator to configure overall settings for LocalMaps. This page is divided into two overarching tabs – General and Widgets. General settings are for components such as what Portal LocalMaps is registered against, the groups to pull content from, the geometry service and viewer information. The Widget settings control configuration of the Print service, Mailing List, Basemap, Add Data and Splash screen widgets. Administrators also have the option here to change the location of the popup or how the maps are ordered in the gallery.  

Many of these settings are set during the installation of LocalMaps but if you do wish to change them at a later date you can do so by selecting or entering in new values. If changes to the settings do not come through immediately, try clearing the cache and reloading the page. Please take consideration when doing this as the content of LocalMaps will change.

By default, the main settings page is set to the General settings. Administrators also have the option to Load Default Settings. This loads in the Print and Geometry services if they have been set up in your ArcGIS Online or Portal Organisation. For ArcGIS Online users, this will load in the service set under the Organization tab > Edit Settings > Utility Services administrators. Administrators also have the option to Load Default Settings. This loads in the Print and Geometry services if they have been set up in your ArcGIS Online or Portal Organisation. For ArcGIS Online users, this will load in the default services found under the Organization tab > Edit Settings > Utility Services. If you are using Portal for ArcGIS, loading defaults will pull in both the Print Service and Geometry Service if they have been set up for your Organisation.

Basemap Group

This group contains the basemaps for the Basemap Gallery widget. When LocalMaps is installed, this group will default to the default basemap setting in your ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS Organisation. If you have a different group of basemaps in your organisation you would like to use, simply select the group from the drop down. Basemaps within this group must all use the same projection.

This is the group that contains content for the Add Data widget. Ensure content in this group is shared with Everyone for the content to be visible in LocalMaps.

Enable Popup Side Panel

This will change the standard popup to be a side panel of the right side of the viewer.

This defines whether the Splash widget is enabled for the LocalMaps Viewer. The text that appears in the Splash Screen comes from the map's Terms of Use in the Item Page.. See here for how to set up a splash screen for a webmap.

If set to yes, this will require that users accept the splash screen terms and conditions before viewing the map. If set to no, then users can click elsewhere on the screen to remove the splash screen.

If the above has been enabled, you may wish to define the text beside the checkbox that users are agreeing to e.g I agree to X Councils terms of use.

Print Task URL

The Print service LocalMaps uses. This is used to print and preview maps in the print widget. It is also used when configuring map elements in LocalMaps Reports.

Optional - Google Analytics Tracking

The option to enter a Google Tracking code for the Viewer or Gallery was removed from the Admin UI at version 2.1. However, if you do require this you can complete the following steps. 

1. Generate a tracking code from here

2. For Viewer tracking, add the code to the index.html in the viewer folder on the web server.
