ArcGIS Services can be used in LocalMaps to create custom searches and query parameters as well as build reports and feature queries. To do this, a new portal connection must be established. A Portal in this sense is either ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise or a standalone ArcGIS Server your organization uses and the Services indexed are either ArcGIS Services, Tables or Locators.

Enter the name and URL of the ArcGIS Server you wish to add. You can then test if the Service is valid by hitting the “Test” button. If the service is valid, a green tick will appear. If invalid, a red cross will appear and prevent the administrator from saving the service until corrected.

Configure a service

Once a new portal is added, administrators can select what ArcGIS services, tables or locators they would like to use in Local Maps. To add services, click the “Services” button for the datasource you have just added. A new table will appear as per below – you may need to scroll down.

By clicking on the green tick, you will see where the service is used throughout LocalMaps eg in a feature query or in a report query etc. These instances where the service is in use must be deleted before you can remove the service and then datasource
